China has begun to build a hi-tech wall topped with barbed wire and surveillance cameras on its border with Burma in what is believed to be an attempt to stop dissidents leaving the country.
Footage of the new metal barrier on the Chinese bank of a river on the border was posted by a villager in the southwest Chinese province of Yunnan and showed Burmese homes a short distance away dwarfed by the new wall.
