In his last NYT column, Friedman erred a second time rather than change his mind (Keynes: "If the facts change, I change my mind, sir. What do you do?"). He repeated the OUTRAGEOUSLY WRONG view he held twenty years ago that it was a mistake to expand NATO (because it would lead to Putin). Nothing could be more false or irresponsible. On the contrary, as is now evident, Ukraine should have been joined in 2014.
I think he has written this column to make amends for his recent lapse of judgement.
